Overall rating; Lire, ๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿฅ–๐Ÿฅ–/5

“When in Rome,” by Sarah Adams, is a bowl of pasta. It’s easy, it’s tasty, and it’s warm. Sometimes you’re not looking for a life-altering or earth-shattering read. I highly recommend this book if you want to cozy up with tea and enjoy a cozy, heartwarming story about two lovebirds in a small town.

I gave Adam’s “When in Rome” four out of five baguettes because while I loved every minute, there are times when I cringe at how corny it is. It doesn’t happen often, but some “intimate” scenes made me sorry for both characters. No one should flirt like that.

But really, the book is sweet, has the opposite attracts trope, an incredibly slow burn and your heart will feel full at the end.

Brief Summary

The book follows pop star Rae Rose on her journey to escape the celebrity life and follow in the footsteps of her weird obsession with Audrey Hepburn and “Roman Holiday.” She ends up in a small town, Rome, and meets a hunky yet grumpy pie shop owner Noah Walker. You can guess where this book goes…

Where to buy “When in rome”

I liked this book even more due to how cheap it was. “When in Rome” goes for $7.99 on Amazon for Kindle and $12.91 for paperback.

What is #LireorLeaveIt? Lire or Leave It is my series where I give you an un-sugarcoated synopsis of books I’ve read (always on my famous Kindle) and tell you if it’s worth the buy. “Lire” is the French verb to read, and each book will be given a score out of five baguettes ๐Ÿฅ–. No, it’s not offensive, and yes, I speak French, so this isn’t weird.
